Other debuts this season include Bradamante in Seattle Opera’s Alcina, and Andromaca in Ermione for Washington Concert Opera.

Following acclaimed performances in the title role of AIDA for the Arena de Verona last summer, soprano Monica Conesa makes her role debut as Norma at the Ravenna Festival with Maestro Riccardo Muti. Future engagements include her Seattle Opera debut as Nedda in I Pagliacci.

This season tenor Rafael Davila returns to the Metropolitan Opera as Ismele in Nabucco, and Don José in Carmen. He also joins Sarasota Opera for Rodolfo in Luisa Miller, Opera Colorado for Samson in Samson et Dalila, and makes his debut with the Teatro Colom as Don José.

This season Maestro J. David Jackson leads the Metropolitan Opera Chamber Players in concert at Carnegie Hall. He then returns to the MET to lead their production of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice.
