Korean Soprano Sunwoo Park has been praised for her nimble shimmering lyric voice and elegant musical phrasing. She was most recently recognized as one of the 2025 Sullivan Award winners by the Sullivan Foundation, shortly after her debut as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro at Opera Santa Barbara.

In previous seasons, Ms. Park performed Ännchen in Der Freischütz as a Filene Artist at Wolf Trap Opera, and covered Musetta in La Bohème as an Apprentice Artist with the Santa Fe Opera. She has also been a featured soloist in concert with Maestro Daniel Suk and The Los Angeles Dream Orchestra. In 2020, prior to covid cancellations, she was engaged by the Lyric Opera of Chicago and set to return to the Santa Fe Opera to perform as Papagena in Die Zauberflöte.

In competition, Ms. Park was awarded 5th place in the 2025 Loren L. Zachary National Vocal Competition and 2nd prize and the audience award at the 2024 Maria Caniglia International Competition in Sulmona, Italy. Ms. Park is a former Chrisman Studio Artist at Opera Santa Barbara where she performed the role of Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance and Frasquita in Carmen.

Besides classical work, Sunwoo has recorded songs for Nikon Camera advertisement in Japan, and the title song of the Japanese animation film Tachikoma. She received her Graduate Certificate and Master’s degree from the University of Southern California and Bachelor’s Degree from Seoul National University.
