Tenor Matthew Sink, a native of Las Vegas, is currently a Resident Artist at The Academy of Vocal Arts. This summer, he appeared as Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos in San Francisco with the prestigious Merola Opera Program. This season, Matthew will be making his role debut as Luigi in Il Tabarro and Manrico in Il Trovatore with The Academy of Vocal Arts. Recent performances include Flamand in Capriccio and Bardolfo in Falstaff.

Matthew is the recipient of numerous national and international honors in 2026, including a Career Grant from the Loren L. Zachary National Vocal Competition, an Encouragement Award from the George London Foundation, Second Place in the Opera Birmingham Vocal Competition, a Career Grant at Wagner Society of New York Competition, and Second Place in the Jensen Foundation Vocal Competition. Additional accolades include the 2025 Marcello Giordani Award from the Premiere Opera Foundation International Vocal Competition and the 2025 Emerging Artist Award from Opera Index.
