Iolanda Massimo
Soprano
Italian soprano Iolanda Massimo is 2021 grand prize winner of the First International Singing Competition ‘Voce all’Opera’ in Milano, obtaining the special prize of the Accademia of Belcanto ‘Rodolfo Celletti’ in Martina Franca. In 2024 she won third prize for the 60th edition of International Competition Voci Verdiane in Busseto and in 2025 earned first prize of 23th edition of International Competition Umberto Giordano, while also earning a special prize as the best voice of Umberto Giordano arias Andrea Chénier.
In 2021 she debuted at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro with the role of Corinna in Il Viaggio
a Reims. In 2022 she made her debut with Opera Carlo Felice in Genova as Fiorilla in Il Turco in Italia by Gioachino Rossini under the direction of Sesto Quatrini. In that same season she sang Antonín Dvořák’s Stabat Mater produced by the Opera Carlo Felice in Genoa under the direction of Claudio Marino Moretti, and debuted the title role of the first modern version of Cecchina suonatrice di Ghironda by Pietro Generali at the Rossini Theatre in Pesaro under the direction of Daniele Agiman, which was also commercially recorded.
Engagements in 2022 include Mozart’s Don Giovanni as Donna Anna at the Ravenna Festival at the Teatro Verdi in Salerno under the direction of Erina Yashima, as well as her debut as Musetta in Puccini’s La Bohème at the Sofia Opera Theatre conducted by Paolo Andreoli. Later that season she also performed in concert at the Piacenza Municipal Theatre in their New Year’s Gala under the direction of Sasha Yanchevych.
In 2023 she worked in the Baroque opera Achille in Sciro by Corselli with the role of Deidamia at the Teatro Real in Madrid under the direction of Ivor Bolton. That same year she debuted the role of Elvira in L’Italiana in Algeri by Gioachino Rossini at the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno under the direction of Marko Hribernik. In 2024 she joined the production of Mosè in Egitto in the role of Elcia for Teatro Pavarotti in Modena.
Iolanda earned her degree in piano and voice at the conservatory Lorenzo Perosi and is a 2021 alumna of the Accademia Rossiniana Alberto Zedda and in 2022 alumna of Accademia of Opera Carlo Felice in Genova. Currently she studies with Raina Kabaivanska.
